Abstract

The using of hypobiosis for animals is considered as one of the promising ways to fight Escherichia coli infection. At the same time, the state of the antioxidant system of the body remains unknown. Therefore, the aim of the study was to study the activity of antioxidant enzymes in the liver of young rats being at the different stages of E. coli infection, when applied to them hypobiosis and after hypobiosis state. It is established that the transition of hypobiosis of animals being at the I stage of E. coli infection activates SOD, catalase but the indexes of the glutathione system are decreased. On the 1st and 3rd day, respectively, after the cessation of hypobiosis, there is a normalization of the studied values at the control. With the transition of animals into a state of hypobiosis in the II and III disease stages the SOD and catalase activity increased and the content of reduced glutathione were significantly reduced. Indexes stabilized after 3 and 6 days after cessation of hypobiosis. Thus, the transition of sick animals into hypobiosis activates SOD and liver catalase, depletes the reserves of reduced glutathione and inhibits the activity of glutathione’s enzymes more intensely than the disease itself, but after hypobiosis indexes return to control values.
